Founded in 1996 by San Francisco native Jonas Teele, Wash House Music Group initially made waves in the Bay Area’s hip hop scene. Partnering with producers like Swampkat, Champelli, Sweet Geez, and Sean T, they worked with renowned artists such as San Quinn, Dubee, City Side, Vital, and Mac Dre. Their track “Feelin Myself” won a BARS Award for Song of the Year, becoming a Bay Area anthem.
Following Mac Dre’s death in 2004, Teele moved to Hawaii and transitioned Wash House into reggae. Teaming up with musician George “Fiji” Veikoso and developing talent like J Boog, Teele and his late business partner Brian “Uncle B” Foster built a studio that soon attracted Grammy-winning artists like Morgan Heritage. This collaboration resulted in J Boog’s 2011 album “Backyard Boogie,” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae charts and remained for 64 weeks.
After Foster’s passing in 2014, Teele reconnected with Reece Tagara (also known as Anuwatu or Watts) in Hawaii. Sharing a passion for music and culture, they co-owned Wash House Music Group and launched the production company Green Stone Music. Their achievements include a Grammy win with Morgan Heritage and Grammy-nominated records with J Boog, alongside platinum certifications for hits like J Boog’s “Let’s Do It Again.” For over 20 years, Wash House Music Group has been a hallmark of quality, consistently releasing high-standard music while staying true to its roots. They remain dedicated to their family, culture, and producing only hits—because only hits are made in the Wash House.
